The Artist
If you went to high school with me, you already know Charlene Perkey. She is a gifted artist, and I am humbled to be able to work with her on this project. I recall Charlene always studying the arts. She was the first person to come to mind when I envisioned this project. You can look at some of her works on her website (https://www.charleneperkey.com/). We have an exciting and ongoing collaboration planned for the future, and I can't wait to share more with you. I am also working on an oracle deck to accompany the book!
I have no clue at this point exactly how my book cover will turn out when they format it for printing. It is all so exciting to me, though. Like most things, I am winging it and learning as I go. But this uncertainty only adds to my eager anticipation for the release of this book and my future. I can't wait to share it with you all.
The Vision
Once I started writing the book, a vision developed in my head, and I thought I would share it with you. Of course, Charlene is the artist, but here is my literary picture for you.
The cover needs to visually tell the story of what it means to Manifest with the Moon. A beautiful woman represents our personal development, uniqueness, and individuality. This woman also represents the Tree of Life and how we all have the answers inside ourselves. It incorporates a version of the Star (faith) and Temperance (balance) tarot cards, symbolizing the personal growth and balance we all strive for.

Manifest with the Moon, by Charlene Perkey
To Manifest with the Moon is to heal, gain a renewed sense of hope, and learn to trust your intuition, which creates balance in the present moment. A beautiful lady is walking onto land, one foot in the water, one on land. Her arms are out to her side, slightly bent, holding scales. One scale holds the celestial sun, and the other the celestial moon to express how we each carry our strength and beauty, making us all amazingly unique.
You wonder if she’s returning to her past or what’s comfortable, reminiscing. Maybe she’s hesitant to move forward, or she’s in the process of turning forward toward her truth. These are the stages of life we have all experienced. Sometimes, we take one step forward and then two backward, which is OK. That is the big picture. It is the details you must pay attention to.
The Detail of the Book Cover
The water shows show movement… maybe just ripples from her feet…The water represents so many things…. First, it means life is in constant motion, and many things are outside your control. It could portray missed blessings and opportunities you never notice if you are stuck in life. Rough water could signify chaos or trauma or mean cleansing and renewal. Still, waters could indicate calm, but even what appears serene has a strong current underneath. When there is an undercurrent, it implies all the facades you put up for others to see. But that is not your truth.
I don’t have a clear picture of the land in my head because the purpose of moving forward is that you don’t know what’s out there. You move forward in faith and with hope. In my head, it just looks like a desert rose stone. Maybe there are paths… one might look rocky or bumpy, but the reward could be greater than the path that looks smooth…

In the night sky, there is a full moon. The full moon has a waterfall of stardust flowing into the water below. The light from the moon sheds light on what is unseen, our shadows, or provides clarity in situations. Stardust is reflected in the lady’s hair to represent her magic!
The star of Bethlehem is visible to represent faith in something bigger than yourself. In Tarot, the Star is about faith. I have a tapestry on my wall as you go up my stairs, and below are decals, “Have faith, I will light your way.”
People make wishes on stars, representing intentions or goals. The moon shines light to help you navigate how to make your dreams come true. When the universe hears you, the response comes from the moon in all her beauty, strengthening your power and igniting your inner spark!
